1 Timothy 5:17-6:2

An elder, a leader in the church is not looking to have a position of authority, he should be desiring to love, care for & serve the people. To set aside his needs to meet the needs of others. He is to lead by example as he serves the Lord & the people.

Many people believe that a leadership position means you now get to tell people what to do. That is a dictator, not a leader in the church. An elder is to lead accordingly & give instruction as needed. This kind of man is worthy of honor.
