Leviticus 11-12
These 2 chapters establish the laws for Israel regarding ceremonial purity by setting them apart as a holy people dedicated to God.
• Leviticus 11 has outlined the dietary restrictions, defining what is clean & unclean animals, fish, birds & bugs.
• Leviticus 12 addresses purification after childbirth, prescribing different periods of ceremonial uncleanness based on the child's gender, ending with a requirement to bring a sin offering & burnt offerings to the tabernacle to regain ceremonial purity.
Both chapters emphasize that being "unclean" is not necessarily sinful, but rather a temporary. A ritual state that prevents approaching God's presence, bring light to the theological theme, You shall be holy, for I am holy.
All which Jesus fulfilled by His sacrifice for us.
